HOLIDAY PERFORMANCE POSTPONED!

I am sorry to say that due to some unexpected challenges in obtaining and preparing the new Summit space, I have been informed by Mrs. Scarato that we are going to have to postpone our holiday concert by 2 weeks.

The new rehearsal and performance dates will be December 17th and 18th. 

I realize some of you had conflictS with our rehearsals/performance this week and may be able to attend now that it is the 3rd week of December, but I also realize their will be some of you who were available to rehearse/perform on the 3rd/4th and will not be available on the 17th/18th.  I apologize for any inconvenience and wish we could have worked it out but our hands are tied.

The rehearsal schedule I sent out earlier (also posted below) will remain the same except on the December 17th and 18th rather than December 3rd and 4th.  Please help communicate this information with your fellow classmates as I realize it is rather last minute.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE HOLIDAY CONCERT

REVISED REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCE DATES:DECEMBER 17th AND 18th

ELEMENTARY CHOIR PERFORMANCE: THURSDAY, DECEMBER 18TH, 2014 6:00-6:30PM (Please be at Summit by 5:40pm)

 ALL WED/THU/FRI students please attend the Elementary Choir class on Both Wed, Dec 17rd & Thu, Dec 18th. Class time is from 1:15-2:15pm. Please meet in the South/East section of the Summit building as we will be rehearsing and performing in the new space.

 CONCERT ATTIRE: All students should wear black on the bottom half (pants or skirt with leggings, socks/shoes) and either a bright red or green shirt (please try and select a true red or green so our shades are similar) Please no designs, pictures or words printed on the shirts.

MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMANCE: THURSDAY, DEC. 18TH 7:00-8:30PM Please be at Summit by 6:40pm)

Middle School Choir: Girls wear a solid red shirt OR a white shirt with Red scarf or vest, boys wear a solid WHITE shirt and a red tie if you have one.

High School Choir: Wear WHITE shirts for Holiday Concert. Red vests will be provided by summit...We may only have enough vest for the ladies, so guys please wear a red or black tie.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES ARE THIS WEEK!

I am looking forward to meeting many of your parents this week.  I have updated Engrade and if you have any questions or concerns about your current grade, don't hesitate to send me a message.  If your grade is suffering I can almost guarantee it is because you are not consistently showing me your practice log each week.  Just fill out your practice log and bring it to class with a parent's signature to receive practice points.  ALSO, IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT OUR HOLIDAY PERFORMANCE AND REHEARSAL TIMES IS LISTED BELOW!  PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND MARK YOUR CALENDAR APPROPRIATELY.

HOLIDAY CONCERT & REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:

Wednesday, December 3rd. 
ALL Wed/Thu/Fri Choir & World Percussion students will have an afternoon rehearsal at Summit.
ALL Wed/Thu/Fri World Percussion students plan to  rehearse during 4th period from 12:15-1:15.
Elementary choir plan to rehearse during 5th period from 1:15-2:15. 
Middle School choir and High School choir come during 6th period if you can anytime after 2:15 but no later than 3:15.  Plan to rehearse until 5:00.

Thursday, December 4th - PERFORMANCE DAY

All Wed/Thu/Fri Musical Theater students should meet on the South end of the Summit building during Thursday's 2nd period class from 9:30-10:30am.

-ALL Wed/Thu/Fri Elementary Choir students should meet on the South end of the Summit building during Thursday's 5th period Elementary Choir class from 1:15-2:15. 

-All Wed/Thu/Fri Middle School & High School Choir students should meet on the South end of the Summit building during Thursday's 6th period class beginning at 2:15.  Middle School plan to stay until 4:00

-All Wed/Thu/Fri World Percussion students should meet on the South end of the Summit building after school from 3:15-4:45

ELEMENTARY CHOIR PERFORMANCE from 6:00-6:45pm, please have students back at Summit by 5:40pm.  You will be dismissed after the Elementary choir performs.

MIDDLE SCHOOL/HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR, WORLD PERCUSSION & MUSICAL THEATER PERFORMANCE from 7:15-8:30pm.  Students, please arrive at Summit at 6:45pm to warm-up and prepare for the concert.

Hello SUMMIT families.  I am so excited to start a new year with you all.  We have some fun music to learn this year and this blog is the most important resource you will use in my classes.  PLEASE familiarize yourself with it, bookmark it and look for new videos, recordings and information each and every week.  I look forward to rehearsing with you all this year.

Thursday High School Guys, I'm thinking we might learn a couple more barbershop quartet pieces to sing Thursday morning before the graduation ceremony...If you have ideas (keep it simple we only have two rehearsals) bring music to class next week.

CELEBRATE!!!

We are finally in our new space and it's wonderful!  We will keep working each week to prepare for our upcoming performances so remember to practice often.

Having Musical Theater Rehearsals these last two weeks have been really helpful.  I feel like the group is staying and track and we will make it through the whole show with just a couple more rehearsals.  Stay tuned to find out what the plan is for next week Jan 29-31.
