Grading Policy

Students will receive weekly participation credit for attendance and diligent work in class as well as credit on a weekly
basis for practicing their music at home. Participation and practice count as 50% of your grade.
On occasion there may be a written project, assignment or online work that will count for homework credit. Projects and assignments count as 25% of students grade.
Finally, students are given credit for attending mandatory rehearsals and performances and absences will be counted as
a zero. Rehearsals and Performances count as 25% of students grade. Student who are absent 3 or more classes in one semester may receive a failing grade. Grades will be based on the following scale:

Grading Scale:
A = 90-100% (Excellent)
B = 80-89% (Good)
C = 70-79% (Okay)
D = 60-69% (Needs Work)
Under 60% is Failing
